How We Write and Check Our Car Hire Guides | eCarBookers

Who Reviews Our Guides

Every guide on eCarBookers is prepared and checked by the eCarBookers Editorial Team before it is published. A guide covers the practical detail of a location: where the car is collected or delivered, which roads lead to it, how far the main destinations are, where the rules of the road differ, and when the area is busiest. The team reads each page against its sources and removes anything it cannot support.

How We Verify a Fact

  • Two independent sources: Every location detail, such as a road name, a distance, a journey time, a petrol station or a local rule, is checked against at least two independent sources before it appears on a page. Two pages that copy each other count as one source.
  • Official and local sources first: Government and road authority information, airport and tourism pages, and suppliers' own published terms take priority over general travel sites.
  • Specific figures: Distances and journey times are stated as the sources give them. Where an exact figure depends on traffic or the route, the page says so.

When Sources Disagree

Sources sometimes differ. A distance may be quoted as 26 km in one place and 29 km in another, or a fine may differ between two reports. In those cases we choose one of three approaches:

  • A range: We show the range, for example "26 to 29 km", so the reader knows the figure varies.
  • "Listed": Where only one source is available, the page says "listed" or "one listing describes", so the reader can tell it has a single source.
  • Left out: Where sources conflict and a wrong figure could cost the reader money, as with a fine or a fee, we leave the figure out and describe the rule in general terms.

What We Do Not Publish

  • Supplier office addresses: We publish an address only when the supplier has confirmed it. Your booking voucher is the definitive source for where and when your car is handed over.
  • Prices that change: Parking fees, entrance fees and fuel prices change often, so a guide gives them only when two current sources agree.
  • Unconfirmed claims about suppliers: Where a guide names hotels, it does so to help the reader check that delivery covers their location. The hotels named are not partners of eCarBookers.

Dates and Updates

Each guide shows the date it was last checked. Rules of the road, opening arrangements and seasonal patterns change, so pages are re-checked on a regular schedule and updated sooner when we learn of a change. A date on a page is the date of a check, not of a minor edit.

Corrections

If you find a detail that is wrong or out of date, please tell us through the contact details in the footer of any page. We check the point against our sources, and we correct the guide when the report is confirmed.

Who writes and reviews the guides on eCarBookers?

Every guide is prepared and checked by the eCarBookers Editorial Team before publication. The team reads each page against its sources and removes any detail it cannot support.

How do you check distances and journey times?

Each distance and journey time is compared with at least two independent sources. Where sources give different figures, the page shows a range or says the figure is listed by one source.

What does "listed" mean in a guide?

It means the detail comes from a single source that we could not confirm with a second one. We include it where it is useful and label it, so you can check it before you rely on it.

How often are the guides updated?

Each guide shows the date it was last checked. Pages are re-checked on a regular schedule and updated sooner when we learn of a change in a rule, a road or a supplier arrangement.

How do I report an error in a guide?

Contact us through the details in the footer of any page and tell us which guide and which detail. We check it against our sources and correct the guide when the report is confirmed.
